Project 2  Research an Artist, Musician or Sports Figure

Project 2

 

    Students will write a biographical report about a musical artist or group or a prominent athlete of our time.  The report will include a title page, table of contents, a biography of the artist, group or athlete, a list of songs or awards, a letter to the artist or athlete, a gallery page and a works cited page.  The Objective of this project is to have students demonstrate their ability to use the basic features of Microsoft Word.

    You will use the Internet for your research. Please use your own words and cite your sources.

Suggestions for Musicians

Project:

Students will research one of the following musical artists/groups of the 1950's or 1960's. Students will write a biography of the artist or group of their choice, a list of 10 songs, lyrics to their favorite song, pictures of that artist and/or albums, and a letter written to that artist.

Students will demonstrate their ability to use the basic formatting features of Microsoft Word including:

    * Indentation

    * Bold, italics, underline

    * Alignment (left, right, center, and justify)

    * Headers and Footers

    * Lists

 

 

   

 

    * Font style and size

    * Columns

    * Tables

    * Sorting information

    * Clip Art and images

    * Spelling and Grammar Check

    * Print Preview and Print

    * Hyperlinks

    * Bookmarks

    * Each item above should be on its own line

    * Use Word Art only for the Project title

    * Change your margins to 1.0" for the top, bottom, left and right

    * Center align vertically everything on this page using spacing or whatever means you think best.
